Leicester City v Manchester United: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Carrington training plans wrecked by snow ahead of King Power Stadium clash

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his scheduled training plans wrecked by the extreme weather conditions in the north-west of England.

The Manchester United boss was trying to prepare his side to travel to Leicester City on Sunday, a game you can hear live on talkSPORT from 2.05pm.

But the cold snap which has brought the UK to a halt has played havoc with the Norwegian’s plans, forcing Solskjaer to cancel Wednesday’s training sessions at Carrington.

According to The Sun, snowfall left the pitches impossible to train on and so the squad was given the day off.

Following the last-gasp draw with Burnley on Tuesday, the squad were scheduled to have Thursday off anyway. Which means the United players have just had two days to train before the clash at the King Power Stadium.

Keen to carry on with the feel-good factor since replacing Jose Mourinho, Solskjaer told his players to stay at home rather than try to come in for a light gym session.

Although there are artificial pitches available, players are fearful of playing on them due to the stress they place on joints.

Having played nine games in six weeks under the caretaker boss, a rest was decided as the best option.

The Red Devils know they can get into the Champions League places with a win against Leicester City, and if results go their way. Chelsea face Huddersfield, while Arsenal take on Manchester City at the Etihad.
