With breakout stars Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, and Vanessa Bayer leading the SNL pack, and Margot Robbie hosting the 42nd season premiere, we think it’s safe to say that Saturday Night Live has really been feeling the girl power lately. And continuing this girl-power streak is Wednesday’s announcement that Felicity Jones is set to host SNL‘s first episode of 2017.
Jones has received a lot of well-earned, critical attention recently, thanks to her ass-kicking role as Rebel fighter Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, not to mention that she was nominated for an Oscar back in 2015 for her work in The Theory of Everything.
We’re so excited to see Jones show off her comedic chops as an SNL host, this being her very first time on the Saturday Night Live stage, with musical guest of the night, Sturgill Simpson.
